CM 690 II Advanced by proclockers.com : March 2010

The ease it takes to assemble a like this is awesome. The tool-less options are plentiful. A lot this has to do with the plastic mechanisms that are used to secure all the drives in place. Every company has their way of integrating drives into their cases. But Coolermaster has one of the fastest and simplest ways of doing so. One thing is there is no vibration features in place.

All in all, this case is beautiful to behold and very easy to work with. Installation is a breeze and if you’re into wire management, it is most definitely your friend. There are also very few mid-tower cases designed specifically with water cooling in mind. It’s a breath of fresh air to be able to put two radiators in a case without needing to step up to a full tower behemoth.

One of the things the 690 II Advanced has going for it is a lot of versatility. With support for mounting radiators in the top or bottom, SSD mount and an external hard drive dock the 690 II Advanced is ready for almost anything you throw at it. Cooling performance is good with the 3 stock fans and with support for up to a total of 10 you can tailor it to the level you want. Styling might be suggestive but I find the 690 II Advanced to be a great looking case and the black interior brings it all together.

One of the biggest features found in this case is the ability to install two dual 120mm radiators and still have room for a decent sized PSU, long video cards, and 6 drives of various types.  We would have liked the option to use a triple fan radiator up top, however the addition of the top mounted X-Dock and relocated power and reset buttons prevent this from happening.

Cooler Master has launched the 690 Advanced with a solid enclosure at an attractive price on the market.  The processing is described as "very good".  The fan used with the built-in lighting will be the case once more visually.  The ventilation concept leaves no room for criticism and consistently provides excellent cooling.

CM 690 II Advanced by tweaknews.net : March 2010

After going over the features and specifications of the CM 690 II Advanced chassis prior to the review, I had high hopes for the case. I wasn't disappointed. Cooler Master has taken the 690 design to the next level in virtually all the important areas. While the case performs admirably right out of the box and would be an excellent choice for almost any enthusiast, it is so remarkably configurable that an advanced builder could tailor it to virtually any hardware set by adding a few well chosen fans in strategic locations. The liquid-cooling community should also take notice of the 690 II. It isn't often that we see a chassis that will accept two dual-120mm radiators and fans without any modification.

We like disk dock on top of the cabinet as a good additional feature.  Interest in appearance to the enclosure cool.  At the same time it is so neutral in appearance that it not be screaming.  This may be a case for both a powerful game machine and a powerful all-round PC or a workstation.

CM 690 II Advanced by Fudzilla : March 2010

We were pretty impressed by the looks and the amount of features the CM 690 Advanced brings and such a low price-point really makes this case more than a bargain. In fact, we could easily find some more expensive cases that would stand in awe in front of what the CM 690 Advanced boasts, and all that at around €80. While we’re tempted to dare anyone to find a better case at this pricepoint, we’ll still have to stop here, but not before we dub our today’s test sample a Fudzilla Recommended case.
